The Load Option Scheme from the Shotgun vs C2

Posted by Rhett Peltier at 10:54 PM on June 29, 2009

We can use a switch scheme with the # 1 and # 2 receivers, allowing us to get great angles, as well as chip to the LB'er with the # 3 receiver.

We pitch off of the widest defender in the box 5 technique out. If the PSDE is a 5 technique, we'd arc the PST over the top for an scraping ILBS, send the PSG to to ILB, stalk the R. If the End closes, pitch the ball. If he floats, QB has the inside zone run option... I'd take 8 on 6 playside any day of the week.

From the defensive standpoint; I would run 1/4, 1/4, 1/2's against trips. If you are a team that runs to the trips side, the trip side C will roll up to the flats. Safetys will play 1/4'2, and theand back
